Hi, I’m Philippe. I have a Masters degree in Dutch from Leiden University and more than 16 years of experience in teaching Dutch to native speakers and expats. I offer private Dutch lessons to expats from around the globe online and in-person. We can meet online or go for a walk. My lesson format is flexible and always tailored to your personal goals. Whether you are new to the Dutch language, looking to refine your fluency or preparing to take an inburgerings exam, I can help.

Why private lessons?

You want flexibility. You can take a trip, get the flu, or have a busy week at work without “missing class” or falling behind. I offer lessons 7 days a week with start times from 9:00 - 21:00.

You need results fast. Private lessons allow you to focus on what’s relevant to you. This means that you will more quickly be able to speak Dutch in your everyday life.

You want true immersion. Much time in group lessons is spent practicing with other students who are also new to Dutch. With private lessons you have the full attention of an experienced, native speaker for the whole lesson, every lesson.

You don’t fit the norm. Students come to me with a variety of levels, talents and shortcomings and I quickly tailor the lessons to their needs. Whether you’re a language nerd, a total newbie, or a particularly fast or slow learner, I can help.
